About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to collect lastest knowledge and studies relating to the use of hydrogen in plant, crop production, and food processing. This collection aims to compile knowledge of the different mechanisms and potential roles of hydrogen in the food production chain. Due to the limited research on hydrogen application in the crop and food field, we believe that a bespoke collection of the latest hydrogen-related works will be helpful for both researchers and technologists.
This Research Topic will cover various aspects of hydrogen applications along with plant physiology, and crop and food production:
• The mechanisms involved in the physiological responses of plants to hydrogen application
• Effect of hydrogen on the biotic and abiotic stresses in plants
• Effect of hydrogen on the quality of vase life of the flower
• Effect of hydrogen on the post-harvest quality of crop
• Use of hydrogen for the increase of crop production
• Use of hydrogen for the increase of nutrients in crops
• Hydrogen application for sustainable handling and storage of crop materials
• Future of hydrogen for global food security
• The effect of hydrogen on plant and food-related enzymes
• The effect of hydrogen on plant and food-related microorganisms
• Effect of hydrogen on the levels of foodborne pathogens in fruits and vegetables
• Use of hydrogen in food and beverage packaging
• Use of hydrogen in animal health and production
• Effect of hydrogen on fish physiology
All the types of manuscripts are welcomed such as reviews, full research articles, and short communication.
