About this Research Topic
1. Monitoring, modelling and assessing the risk of ozone damage to forest ecosystems: New monitoring approaches and epidemiological studies, Risk assessment by evaluating different metrics for plant protection, with a focus on stomatal ozone flux.
2. How forest ecosystems respond to ozone exposure: a main aim is to evaluate strategies for maximizing productivity and other environmental services of forest ecosystems under ozone stress. Mechanistic studies under controlled conditions are also welcome.
3. How forest ecosystems affect ozone concentration in the atmosphere: Exchanges of biogenic volatile organic compounds and links with ozone chemistry in the atmosphere by addressing mechanisms, seasonality, responses to ozone singly and in combination with other environmental factors.
Keywords: Ozone Pollution, Forest, Atmosphere, Stomatal Ozone Flux, Ozone Stress, Biogenic Volatile Compounds
