These vectors enable the spread of various infective pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, protozoa, and parasitic worms. The increasing prevalence and geographic spread of these diseases are often linked to environmental changes, including climate change, which facilitates the broader dissemination and activity of many vector species. This shifts the epidemiological patterns of diseases they carry, necessitating renewed focus on innovative diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive strategies.

This Research Topic aims to explore the latest developments and future directions in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of vector-borne diseases, with a special emphasis on the impacts of climate change on these diseases' transmission dynamics. It will investigate how shifting climatic conditions affect disease epidemiology and vector ecology, informing better public health interventions and disease management strategies.
