With the impending wave of population aging, musculoskeletal disorders are emerging as a global challenge. The maintenance and stability of bone, cartilage, and ligaments are crucial for preserving musculoskeletal health and joint function. However, the increasing incidence of musculoskeletal injuries, coupled with the insufficient regenerative capacity of the human body, make the repair of bones and ligaments, as well as cartilage regeneration, significant challenges for clinicians, imposing a substantial economic burden on society.

In recent years, the rise of tissue engineering and its applications in medical-related fields have positioned it as a promising avenue for bone repair, cartilage regeneration, and ligament reconstruction. The use of novel materials with bioactive or transformative potential to address clinical challenges offers hope for patients. Therefore, employing tissue engineering techniques to design biomaterials for practical applications in bone and ligament repair and cartilage regeneration is vital for treating musculoskeletal diseases and injuries.

The goal of this research is to collect and organize original research and review articles on the application of tissue engineering in bone, joint, and ligament injury, and cartilage regeneration, while developing new methods and exploring transformative potential.
