Recent advances in multi-omics technologies, including cytogenomics (such as optical genomic mapping), genomics (next-generation sequencing, exome, and whole-genome sequencing), epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and single-cell omics analysis, have significantly enhanced our understanding of the biology of myeloid neoplasms, such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). These approaches facilitate the identification of new diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, elucidate complex molecular mechanisms, and contribute to the development of novel therapeutics.

Significant recent advances in integrating multi-omics, bioinformatics, and clinical data have led to the creation of algorithms for improved risk stratification, applicable to both pediatric and adult patients with AML and MDS. These developments are paving the way for individualized treatment strategies, marking the dawn of a new era in precision medicine.

This article collection aims to highlight the latest advancements in multi-omics approaches for precision medicine, targeting pediatric and adult patients with MDS and AML.

This Research Topic welcomes original research, reviews and case reports covering, but not limited to, the following topics:
