Contemporary actions for sustainable development require the use of new solutions also in the area of building materials. The construction industry can contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and improving the condition of the environment. However, this requires the use of innovative concrete mixtures and building binders. It is necessary to strive to develop low-emission materials for construction and to improve their strength properties by using reinforcement from natural fibers, which are renewable. The research topic is related to the latest achievements in the field of low-emission materials, the use of waste materials in construction and materials using renewable natural fibers.
The research topic is related to research and application of innovative binders created using anthropogenic raw materials and the use of natural fibers to reinforce building materials. The latest achievements show that more and more innovative solutions are being created in this area, which have a real chance of becoming an alternative to conventional materials. However, efforts and aspirations to develop optimal solutions should be strengthened and entrepreneurs and corporations responsible for implementing these solutions should be convinced of them.
Within this research topic, scientific articles are desired that are both a review of the literature on the subject and original scientific research related to topics such as:
sustainable development in construction, alkaline-activated binders, geopolymers, Sorel cements, natural fibers in construction, low-emission binders and construction technologies, sustainable construction chemistry, and similar.
