The integration of educational psychology in various stages of education—from primary to higher levels—focuses on a strategic blend of cognitive outcomes and social inclusion within learning environments. According to Schweder & Raufelder in 2022, central to this discussion is the role of such psychology in modifying educational environments to better support student motivation, self-perception, and overall psychological welfare and development.
This Research Topic aims to enhance understanding of how educational psychology can improve teaching and learning outcomes in diverse educational settings. In 2022, Ruiz-Montero et al., Specified areas of interest include analyzing the impact of diverse pedagogical methods and social inclusion on cognitive processes in learning environments and understanding the student-teacher psychological dynamics in active learning methodologies, particularly with vulnerable groups. We further aim to document and evaluate educational practices that prioritize mental health and academic success in educational frameworks.
To unveil psychological factors influencing learning and to foster innovative pedagogical strategies that integrate psychological insights, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
• Impact of attention and cognitive psychology theories on educational practices.
• Role of biological factors in shaping learning abilities across different educational settings.
• Developmental psychology and its implications on lifetime learning strategies.
• Integration of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles within pedagogical frameworks.
Submissions are encouraged to propose how foundational principles of educational psychology can be practically implemented to enrich teaching and learning processes, thereby impacting a wide spectrum of educational frameworks. Articles not directly related to educational psychology, such as those focusing solely on language instruction like EFL teaching, will not be considered to maintain the focus on core psychological elements within education.
