The field of adolescent mood disorders has witnessed significant progress in recent years, particularly in understanding the underlying mechanisms and developing effective treatment strategies. Mood disorders during adolescence can be particularly challenging due to the complex interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors during this critical developmental period. These disorders, including depression and anxiety, have far-reaching consequences, affecting not only the individual's mental health but also their academic performance, familial and social relationships, and overall quality of life. Therefore, there is an urgent need for innovative and effective interventions that can address the unique challenges faced by adolescents with mood disorders.

This Research Topic is dedicated to presenting the latest research findings on the mechanisms and non-pharmacological interventions for adolescent mood disorders. Our goal is to showcase cutting-edge discoveries and insights into the etiology of adolescent mood disorders, as well as promising psychological and other non-pharmacological treatments with significant application potential and dissemination value. We aim to foster the advancement and adoption of these therapeutic approaches.
