Urologic cancers encompass a range of malignancies affecting the urinary system and male reproductive organs, including prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, and penile cancers. These cancers are among the most prevalent and deadly worldwide, contributing to substantial morbidity and mortality. The field of urologic oncology has witnessed unprecedented progress over the past decades, driven by the advent of cutting-edge technologies, biomarkers, and innovative therapies. Despite these advancements, significant challenges and unmet needs persist, particularly in early detection, risk stratification, personalized therapy, and the prevention of recurrence and progression.

The goal of this Research Topic is to provide a comprehensive and updated overview of the current trends and future directions in the diagnosis and treatment of urologic cancers, in particular an in-depth and updated perspective on personalized and precision medicine approaches for the diagnosis and treatment of these cancers.
Our objective is to highlight the latest advances and innovations tailored to individualized patient care, as well as to identify existing gaps and limitations in the current management strategies. We seek to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and the exchange of ideas among researchers and clinicians dedicated to various facets of urologic oncology.

We welcome original research articles, reviews, mini-reviews, perspectives, and commentaries that focus on diagnostic and treatment trends of urologic cancers, and personalized and precision medicine approaches in these cancers, including but not limited to:

• Epidemiology, risk factors, and prevention of urologic cancers
• Molecular and genetic mechanisms of urologic cancers development and progression
• Novel biomarkers and imaging techniques for urologic cancers detection and staging
• Current and emerging surgical, radiotherapy, and systemic therapies for urologic cancers
• Personalized and precision medicine approaches for urologic cancers
• Quality of life, survivorship, and supportive care issues in urologic cancers

We encourage authors to submit manuscripts that report novel findings, provide critical insights, and propose new hypotheses or perspectives on diagnosis and treatment. We also welcome manuscripts that address the challenges and controversies in the field, and suggest future research directions and priorities.
