About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to explore the influence of polyphenols on inflammation pathways integral to NCDs, focusing on their potential as anti-inflammatory and redox modulating agents. Investigations will extend to their interaction with cellular signaling pathways, notably the NF-κB pathway, to unveil how they might contribute to NCDs prevention and therapy.
We invite contributions that delve into the molecular and clinical dimensions of polyphenols in relation to inflammation-driven NCDs. This special issue aims to broaden the research horizon in the following key areas:
• Cardiovascular diseases
• Metabolic disturbances
• Oncological conditions
• Microbial composition of the gut
• Intracellular signaling dynamics
• Clinical research outcomes
• Empirical studies from in vivo, in vitro, and in silico models
These topics are expected to enrich the discussion on dietary polyphenols, showcasing their potential in medical and dietary strategies against NCDs, contributing significantly to global health improvement initiatives.
Keywords: Diet, polyphenols, inflammation, diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, cancers, signaling pathways
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
