About this Research Topic
"Reviews in Renal Pharmacology" is a new collection of high-quality scholarly review papers focusing on key topics and recent progress in the field. This Research Topic is designed to highlight important directions and new possibilities for future research while fostering discussion within the renal pharmacology community. By showcasing the latest developments, we aim to inspire best practices in clinical, public health, and policy settings.
We welcome submissions of full-length, mini, or systematic review papers that cover a broad spectrum of topics, including but not limited to:
• Pharmacological interventions to mitigate drug-induced nephrotoxicity, exploring renal injury mechanisms, renoprotection strategies, and novel therapeutic targets to preserve renal function.
• Innovative drug delivery systems tailored for renal therapeutics, such as nanotechnology, liposomal formulations, hydrogels, and polymer-based carriers designed to enhance drug efficacy and minimize adverse effects.
• Precision medicine approaches in renal pharmacotherapy, examining the interplay between genetic variations, individual patient characteristics, and drug response profiles.
• The use of AI and/or omics (including spatial transcriptomics) in renal drug discovery and pharmacology.
We also welcome articles highlighting emerging trends, new technologies, and innovative approaches to renal pharmacology.
