Flexible electronics is an emerging trend of next-generation electronics and are expected to claim substantial market in the next decade. The rapid development of flexible electronics demands reliable flexible power sources. To meet this demand, substantial efforts have been made to develop various flexible energy sources involving flexible energy harvesters, flexible energy storage devices and flexible power systems. In addition to serving as flexible power sources, many flexible energy devices can also act as sensors, which often possess the advantage of self-powered ability.
This Research Topic aims to investigate the novel materials, delve into working mechanisms, enhance the performance and expand the application of flexible energy devices. We welcome Original Research, Review, Mini Review and Perspective articles on themes including, but not limited to:
• Design and fabrication of flexible energy devices or systems as flexible power sources
• Design and fabrication of flexible energy devices as flexible sensors
• Design and preparation of flexible energy materials
• Theoretical or experimental examination of working mechanisms of flexible energy devices or interactions between flexible energy materials
• Exploration of new applications for flexible energy materials and devices
