Diagnostic and Treatment Strategies for Periodontal Disease

Periodontal health is an integral part of oral health with an unequivocal association to general health. Accurate diagnosis and classification as well as prompt treatment of periodontal diseases in addition to risk reduction facilitates the creation of a healthy periodontium. The knowledge of the advances in diagnostic and treatment approaches is essential for achieving the aim of optimum periodontal health.

This Research Topics welcomes Original Research articles, Reviews, Mini reviews, and Commentaries that look into the risk factors of periodontal diseases, risk reduction strategies, diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases. We are particularly interested in the following sub-topics:
• Newer methods of diagnosis of periodontal diseases that would enable the early detection and treatment of diseases
• Classification of diseases which are of clinical relevance and aid in diagnosis and treatment planning for periodontal diseases.
• Newer methods of treatment for periodontal diseases that may include drugs, restorative materials, materials that facilitate regeneration of lost periodontal tissues, and surgical techniques for the treatment of periodontal diseases and conditions.
