About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to collect research and practices that explore, examine, and discuss recent digital innovations in technology-enhanced learning environments, as well as the use and application of emerging technologies in teaching and learning contexts. We look into the different facets of technology-enhanced learning environments, including (1) the use, design, and implementation of technological innovations to facilitate teaching and promote deep and meaningful learning across different content areas (e.g., STEM, non-STEM, or STEAM) at various levels (e.g., K-12, higher, or adult education) or settings (e.g., formal or informal settings.); (2) the effect of innovative interventions with technology integration on teaching effectiveness or student outcomes; (3) cognitive, attitudinal, or motivational factors associated with the use or implementation of emerging technologies in face-to-face, hybrid, or online learning environments; (4) the innovative use or pedagogical design of lessons, activities, or assessments with the integration of emerging technology tools, platforms, or resources; and (5) the investigation of students’ learning experiences (e.g., satisfaction, engagement, etc.) and outcomes, or critical variables (e.g., interaction, self-efficacy, benefits, challenges, etc.) in technology-integrated learning environments.
We encourage the submission of manuscripts that are original research, reviews, case studies, and empirical or theoretical studies. Themes welcomed by this Research Topic include, but are not limited to the following:
● Artificial intelligence (AI), AI literacy for educators and students
● Augmented reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), eXtended Reality (XR)
