Ozone Pollution is a significant barrier to improving air quality and has a profound effect on human health and Climate Change. However, despite its critical impact, the mechanisms underlying Ozone Pollution formation remain inadequately understood. Comprehensive insights into these mechanisms are crucial for developing effective control strategies. Such strategies require thoroughly examining emission source control, meteorological conditions, local photochemical reactions, regional atmospheric transport, and chemical transformation processes. Recent studies have made strides in identifying key factors influencing ozone levels, such as the role of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) in photochemical reactions. However, gaps remain in understanding the complex interactions between these factors and how they vary across different regions and climatic conditions. Addressing these gaps is essential for developing more effective and targeted mitigation strategies.

This Research Topic aims to enhance the scientific understanding of the formation mechanisms of Ozone Pollution. By delving into various contributory aspects and their interactions, we seek to inform better strategies for managing and mitigating Ozone Pollution. This endeavor includes investigating the sources of ozone, analyzing trends and influencing factors, and understanding photochemical reactions through direct measurements and modeling studies. Additionally, we explore the ozone formation regimes and the impacts of meteorological conditions and Climate Change on Ozone Pollution.
