About this Research Topic
The current Research Topic aims to provide epidemiological evidence and mechanistic insights into the role of foods, diet, and dietary patterns in the prevention and management of diabesity. This includes exploring relationships and the impact of specific nutrients, bioactive compounds, specific dietary strategies or dietary patterns in the cellular and molecular biomarkers, and or, in clinical biomarker of diabetes and obesity, when coexisting in individuals and populations. In addition, evidence in dietary educational strategies to prevent or manage diabesity is also of interest.
This Research Topic aims to explore the role of foods, diet, and dietary patterns in the prevention and management of diabesity. We invite contributions addressing various themes, including but not limited to:
• Observational studies/clinical studies/systematic reviews on the role of foods, diet and dietary patterns in the prevention or management of diabesity.
• Experimental studies providing mechanistic insights into the role of foods, diet and dietary patterns in the prevention or management of diabesity.
• Educational strategies to prevent or manage diabesity at the levels of the individual, community, and policymakers.
Keywords: Obesity, type 2 diabetes, inflammation, diabesity, foods, diet
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
