About this Research Topic
Currently, women constitute less than 30% of researchers internationally. Deep-seated biases and gender stereotypes hinder females from entering and advancing in scientific fields like machine learning and neuroscience. However, UNESCO underscores the significance of gender equality in conjunction with scientific progress for sustainable development. Therefore, championing gender equality, dismantling stereotypes, and motivating more females to embrace careers in STEM fields is crucial.
To address gender disparities and underscore the importance of diversity within neuroscience and machine learning, Frontiers in Neuroscience announces the "Women in Machine Learning and Neuroscience" Research Topic. We invite researchers to submit original articles surrounding studies conducted by women, or initiatives maintaining gender balance. Perspectives on gender equality in the relevant field, as well as review articles on recent advancements in machine learning and neuroscience involving women researchers, are also welcomed.
Submissions with women playing the lead and/or corresponding author roles are strongly encouraged. However, we remain committed to inclusivity, welcoming all articles within the defined scope, irrespective of the gender of the investigators.
Keywords: women, machine learning, neuroscience, brain research
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
