About this Research Topic
In this research topic, we hope to create a forum to discuss the latest advances in new diagnostic and monitoring methods for cancer epigenetic biomarkers. We plan to focus on the potential applications of epigenetic biomarkers, including non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), DNA methylation, and histone modifications, in the diagnosis, prognostic evaluation, and therapeutic processes of various cancer types. We hope that this research topic will help us understand the latest applications of epigenetics in cancer research and provide innovative strategies for fighting cancer.
Any original research and review focusing on this theme are welcome.
1. Genome-wide DNA Methylation Profiling: Investigate the DNA methylation patterns across various cancer types to identify unique methylomic markers for early diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment monitoring.
2. Histone Modification and Cancer Progression: Explore the role of specific histone modifications, such as acetylation and methylation, and assess their potential as biomarkers for predicting disease progression and treatment response.
3. Regulatory Mechanisms of Non-coding RNAs in Cancer: Examine the functions and mechanisms of small and long non-coding RNAs in cancer initiation and metastasis, and develop diagnostic and prognostic assays based on these non-coding RNAs.
4. Epigenetic Drug Response Monitoring: Evaluate changes in epigenetic markers in patients treated with epigenetic drugs, such as DNA methyltransferase inhibitors and histone deacetylase inhibitors, to monitor drug efficacy and disease progression.
5. Integrative Multi-omics Analysis: Combine gene expression, epigenetic markers, and clinical data to create comprehensive bioinformatics models for accurately predicting treatment responses and survival rates in cancer patients.
