The immune system strategically safeguards host organisms from invasive pathogenic microorganisms and the proliferation of tumour cells. Furthermore, it is important in maintaining the equilibrium and homeostasis of all tissues and organs. Owing to abnormal gene expression or gene mutation, immune cells may exhibit abnormal functional disorders or excessive immune responses, leading to the occurrence of immune system diseases, including autoimmune diseases, autoimmune dysfunction, tumors and so forth.

Thanks to advancements in high-throughput technologies encompassing single cell transcriptome sequencing, spatial transcriptome sequencing, protein chips, mRNA chips, and so on, combined with bioinformatics analysis enables identification of novel disease-related genes or signalling pathways is more effective. This may ultimately contribute to a better understanding of the function and mechanism of immune system, as well as exploring the disease related targets and diagnostic predictions for human diseases.

The aim of this Research Topic is to exploring the complexity of the immune system and the molecular mechanisms of immune related diseases. We particularly encourage by using novel research methods, including high-throughput sequencing and novel statistical and methodological analysis, to explore the functions and molecular mechanisms of immune cells in the inheritance, evolution, and development of diseases. We also hold a keen interest in multidisciplinary and translational approaches to address innovative and pioneering research questions pertaining to immune-related diseases.

We welcome the submission of original research articles, perspective, review, and mini-reviews related to, but not limited to, the following topics:
• The identification of novel genes or genetic variations provoking immune dysfunction in diseases.
• Investigation into the molecular mechanisms of immune disorders using genomics.
• Advanced technologies and methods, such as eQTL and single-cell sequencing are used to find the hub gene in immune related diseases.
• The utilization of gene intervention technology for the treatment of immune-related diseases.
