We are fortunate to observe and partake in rapid advancements in technologies and engineering tools to enhance our understanding on intricate operations of the nervous system. These novel engineering tools and techniques are aimed at dissecting the complexities of the nervous system. Animal models have proven invaluable for investigating the nervous system, offering insights that are often unattainable within clinical environments. Neural engineering and technology innovations have also led to the miniaturization and portability of recording devices used in animal models, allowing researchers to design experiments that replicate real-world tasks and behaviors. Integrated systems to communicate with animal brains have provided unprecedented tools to understand brain mechanisms. Advancements in biotechnology and engineering have provided researchers with an unprecedented ability to probe neural circuits with remarkable precision and detail.
