Recent studies have highlighted the increasing incidence of diseases such as dengue, Zika, and chikungunya in temperate regions, underscoring the need for a comprehensive understanding of the factors driving this spread. Despite advancements in surveillance and control measures, significant gaps remain in predicting and mitigating the impact of global movement on vector-borne disease transmission. Addressing these gaps is crucial for developing effective strategies to prevent and control outbreaks in a rapidly changing world.

This research topic aims to explore the intricate relationship between global human and animal movement and the spread of vector-borne diseases.
