About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to foster international collaboration across Latin America to enhance understanding of the use of various immunological therapies in pediatric cancers, including leukemia, lymphomas, and solid tumors. The primary objectives are to gain a deeper understanding of survival rates, prognosis, toxicity, and access to these treatments for pediatric cancers in Latin America. The goal is to use these findings to improve treatment strategies and outcomes for children with cancer in this region.
The scope of this research topic is defined by its focus on the use of immunological therapy for the treatment of pediatric cancers in Latin America. We welcome submissions of original research, reviews, and clinical trials articles that explore various aspects of this topic. Suggested themes for discussion include:
- Clinical research
- Access to these therapies
- Treatment complications
- Prognosis and survival
- Exploration of specific treatments, including monoclonal antibodies and cell therapy
Descriptive studies and cost-effectiveness studies may be considered on a case-by-case basis. However, manuscripts consisting solely of bioinformatics or computational analysis of public genomic or transcriptomic databases, which are not accompanied by validation (independent cohort or biological validation in vitro or in vivo), are out of scope of this collection and will not be accepted as part of this research topic..
