Angioedema can occur with or without urticaria. Many patients with acute attack of angioedema present to the emergency department. Histamine and bradykinin are two most common agents contributing to the development of angioedema. Clinical presentations of histamine and bradykinin mediated angioedema may be similar, but treatment of these two conditions differ. In order to improve outcomes of the treatment it is important to differentiate these types of angioedema.
