Postharvest diseases are a major cause of food loss and waste. Active research aims to understand host-pathogen interactions, clarify epidemiology, and develop innovative tools for sustainable disease management.
The current Research Topic will cover the innovations in host-pathogen interactions, epidemiology and sustainable strategies for disease management.
Scientists investigating postharvest pathogens and diseases, including those who participated in the "Innovations in Food Loss and Waste Management" meeting in Ancona on January 23-25, 2024, are welcome to contribute to the Research Topic. The first four accepted manuscripts will receive a partial discount of publication fees. Authors may submit papers based on experimental work or reviews that shed light on the mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions, clarify the epidemiology of postharvest pathogens, and propose new approaches for sustainable postharvest disease management.
Keywords:
Postharvest diseases, host-pathogen interactions, epidemiology, integrated disease control, alternatives to fungicides, food loss, food waste, food security
Important Note:
All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
