About this Research Topic
Recently, the research community has made significant progress in the design and synthesis of bioactive molecules, the discovery of new natural products, the total synthesis of natural products, and the development of synthesis methods based on bioactive scaffolds. Therefore, we hope to collect, summarize and showcase the latest progress in the synthesis strategies, bioactivity evaluation, and quality control of natural products and their derivatives through this album, and provide new methods and template molecules for the development of innovative drug molecules in the future.
Welcome to submit original research articles, mini comments, and viewpoints on this research topic, which may include but are not limited to:
(1) Separation, structural elucidation, and biological evaluation of natural products;
(2) Synthesis and biological evaluation of bioactive molecules based on natural products;
(3) Efficient synthesis for key skeletons of bioactive natural products;
(4) Quality evaluation of natural products.
Please note:
If your MS is submitted to Frontiers in Pharmacology or involves plant or fungal extracts, please check your MS using the Four Pillars and the ConPhyMP tool (see https://ga-online.org/best-practice/; cf. ConPhyMP statement Front. Pharmacol. 13:953205. In your submission you need to include a PDF with the filled in datasets based on Table 1 and one of the tables in section 2 . Please note the traditional context including the primary background and modern uses with supporting references must be included in the manuscript's introduction.
