About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to explore the neuroscience of PD, including the causes, symptoms, and potential treatments. E.g. what are the risk factors that contribute to the development of PD? What role do genetics, environmental factors, and lifestyle play in PD presentation, onset, progression, and treatment response?
We welcome submissions that explore the latest research on PD, including breakthroughs in understanding the molecular pathways involved in PD, novel approaches to diagnosis and treatment, and insights into the role of neuroinflammation and oxidative stress in the pathology of the disease. We encourage interdisciplinary studies that integrate findings across multiple disciplines in neuroscience, such as neuropharmacology, neuroimaging, and behavioral studies.
Overall, this research topic provides a comprehensive overview of the neuroscience of PD, to inform clinical practice and catalyze future research to develop effective treatments for this debilitating disorder.
