About this Research Topic
Since there is evidence that the biophysical stimulation, at the distinct parametric range, affects the maturation of osteoblasts the interrelation between external biophysical stimulation and the buildup of mitochondrial transmembrane potential might exist and should be further investigated.
Research on the pathways from biophysical stimulation of osteoblast to osteoblast synthetic activity via involvement of mitochondrial machinery might reveal a new aspect of bone regeneration stimulation that currently hasn't been reported to a large extent. Such reports might be a basis for future innovative clinical methods for bone regeneration.
Keywords: osteoblast, mitochondria, aerobic glycolysis, mitochondrial transmembrane potential, mitochondrial permeability transition pore, bone regeneration
