Genetic and environmental factors contribute to the occurrence and development of tumors. Nutrition level is an important factor affecting the prevention and treatment of cancer. Precision nutrition is to abandon the "one-size-fits-all" nutrition approach, and scientific and reasonable dietary recommendations or nutritional intervention strategies are the source of research to prevent the development of tumors. In addition, the occurrence and development of tumors are often accompanied by metabolic disorders, so exploring the research progress and development direction of tumor and nutrient metabolism is crucial for the diagnosis of tumor occurrence. The use of omics and other means facilitates current research to provide new strategies for the treatment of tumors, to explore new metabolism-related targets, and to search for effective drugs or prepare new drug delivery systems.

The population is divided into different subgroups according to lifestyle, dietary environmental exposure, genetics, microbiology, metabolomics, biomarkers, etc., and the feasibility analysis of nutritional intervention and the establishment of targeted dietary recommendations have been carried out. Metabolic reprogramming is a major feature of tumor cells, and the complexity of immune metabolism in the tumor microenvironment is an important factor affecting the efficacy of tumor immunotherapy. Therefore, targeting immune metabolism to reduce immunosuppression, enhance anti-tumor immunity, improve the efficacy of existing tumor immunotherapies, and even overcome drug resistance are directions of interest. Targeting glucose metabolism, amino acid metabolism, nucleotide metabolism, lipid metabolism, etc., to find effective drugs or prepare new drug delivery systems and provide a new research hotspot for the development of targeted therapy of tumors.

The aim of the current Research Topic is to cover promising, recent, and novel research trends in the tumor nutrition metabolism and targeting drug delivery systems field. We invite authors to submit original research and reviews for this Special Issue. Areas to be covered in this Research Topic may include, but are not limited to:

• Targeted therapy of tumor immune metabolism

• Effects of metabolic reprogramming on tumor progression

• Effective targets were explored by metabolomics and other omics methods

• Study on metabolically related death modes (e.g., ferroptosis, etc.) in tumor and tumor drug resistance

• Therapeutic strategies for metabolically relevant pathway targets (e.g., drug delivery of nanomaterials)
