About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to discuss advances in materials and forming mechanisms for the fabrication of high-performance ceramic components, in order to broaden our understanding of the capabilities, challenges, future perspectives and implementation of additive manufacturing of advanced ceramic materials.
The potential contribution topics include, but are not limited to:
• Novel printing feedstock such as silica aerogels and glasses with tunable compositions;
• Meso-nanosecond scale spatter-induced defect during laser powder bed fusion;
• Advanced manufacturing strategies such as volumetric additive manufacturing, multi-material printing, and micro/nano-scale printing;
• Ultra-fine and ultra-complex structure fabrication such as multifunctional sensing components and proprioceptive robotic metamaterials;
• Record-breaking mechanical performance, or cutting-edge biological applications;
• Formulation design and characterisation of complex fluids.
We particularly welcome the submission related to porous and bioceramic prepared by direct ink writing (DIW), selective laser sintering (SLS), stereolithography (SL), and digital light processing (DLP).
