About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to gain an understanding of the acute and chronic responses to neuromuscular training exercises (NTE) in different populations. To this aim, we seek to publish high-quality research articles, as well as reviews, related (but not limited to) to NTE:
- in health and rehabilitation
- in human performance
- for the biological bases of NTE
- for better training effectiveness and individualization
- for biomechanical, anthropometric, cardiovascular, and metabolic acute/long-term effects.
The scope of the NTE Research Topic is to cover the vast range of themes stated above. For this purpose, the editors are interested in publishing a collection of articles covering Original Research, Brief Reports, Reviews, and Case Reports addressing NTE. The type of original research that is sought to be submitted would include acute as well as short-term and long-term intervention studies. For acute studies, study designs employing cross-over designs are encouraged. Reviews in the form of narrative, systematic, and scoping reviews targeting NTE and related areas are welcome.
Keywords: stretch-shortening cycle, resistance training, sprinting, complex training, power, ballistic, explosive, eccentric, physical fitness, clinical populations, injury prevention, plyometric exercise
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
