About this Research Topic
In recent years, the regeneration of stem cells is important for tissue repair. But there are some problems that need to be resolved. Firstly, with aging, stem cell is gradually depleted and lose their ability to differentiate. For example, osteoporosis is a common disease in elderly people, there is not an effective therapy method so far. One of the main reasons is stem cell exhaustion. Therefore, the exploration of the mechanism of stem cell exhaustion and maintaining the function of stem cells needs to be resolved. In addition, how to manipulate the directional differentiation of stem cells is useful through CRISPR-Cas9 and genetic engineering. Lastly, the three-dimensional cultivation approach is a useful method to explore the tissue microenvironment compared with conventional adherent two-dimensional monolayer cultivation.
We plan to publish high-quality research in the regulation of tissue microenvironment on stem cell regeneration. Papers published by the journal aim to represent important advances of significance to specialists within each field.
