About this Research Topic
Smart water systems and the digital twin have been a hot topic in the water communities. Smart water management provides the new methods on water security issues, including smart data collection, modelling, and real-time controlling. It helps improve the ability to prevent and control water problems and ensure water security. To further promote the application of 3S technology, digital twins, big data analysis, and artificial intelligence in the water industry, and accelerate the construction of smart water management systems with forecasting, warning, simulation, and planning capabilities, we have convened this Research Topic.
The theme of this Research Topic includes but is not limited to the following topics:
1. 3S techonology application in flood and drought hazards
2. 3S techonology application in smart watershed and smart irrigated area;
3. Hydrological remote sensing applications
4. Artificial intelligence applications in hydrology
5. Resilient watershed and adaptive strategies
Keywords: water resources management, 3S technology, artificial intelligence, deep learning, water security
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
