About this Research Topic
In the field of plant biology, Arabidopsis is widely used as a model plant. ICAR2023 covers basic plant biology, new biotechnology, chemical biology, and application to other plant species for the accomplishment of SDGs. This Research Topic aims to collect contributions around the themes presented at the conference, which include not only advances in Arabidopsis research for identifying key players (genes or proteins), regulatory networks underlying various biotic/abiotic stress responses, and developmental processes, but also state-of-the-art translational research for achieving sustainable development goals.
Authors are welcome to submit Original Research, Methods, Mini-reviews, and Review articles. The contributions presented at ICAR2023 are particularly welcome in this Research Topic. Other submissions that fit into the scope of this topic are also encouraged.
This Research Topic focuses on (but is not limited to) the following themes:
- Advances in translational research for adaptation to environmental cues such as global warming and desertification for sustainable food supply
- Identification of novel molecular players regulating biotic/abiotic stress responses
- Technological developments and new tools for plant engineering and plant molecular genetics
- Physiological and molecular biological insights into plant-plant or plant-organisms’ interactions, such as microbes and insects
- Cell biology for reproductive development and regeneration
- Evolutionary perspective on developmental and environmental responses towards phenotypical plasticity
- Technological developments and applications of single-cell analyses, omics integration and epigenetics
- Spatiotemporal dynamics of plant proteins from regulatory networks in the cell
- Discovery or development of sustainable chemical tools for crop protection and adaptation to environmental stresses, and the disclosure of related molecular networks
- Studies of plant metabolomics in the context of biotic interactions and/or cellular homeostasis upon stress
Keywords: arabidopsis, plant biology, SDGs, environmental crisis, genes, proteins, abiotic and biotic stress
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
