Composite materials have emerged as a significant area of research due to their potential to enhance the performance of pure materials in various applications, including adsorption. Composites are formed by combining two or more distinct materials, each retaining its unique properties, which can lead to improved thermal and mechanical characteristics. The interface between different materials in a composite, known as the interphase, can exhibit unique properties that contribute to the overall performance of the composite. This is particularly relevant in applications where thermal management is crucial, such as in adsorption processes.

Despite the promising advantages of composites, challenges remain, such as optimizing the stability and adsorption kinetics of the materials. Recent studies have shown that composites can improve thermal conductivity and heat transfer, which are critical for efficient adsorption. However, there is still a need for a deeper understanding of the thermal properties of composites and how these can be optimized for specific adsorption applications.

This Research Topic aims to explore the thermal properties of composite materials specifically for adsorption applications. The primary objective is to advance the understanding of how the combination of different materials can enhance thermal conductivity, heat transfer, and overall adsorption performance. Key questions to be addressed include how the interphase properties influence thermal behavior and how different preparation methods affect the thermal and adsorption characteristics of the composites.

We welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
• Investigation of heat transfer mechanisms, including conduction and convection, in composite materials
• Analysis of the heat of adsorption and its impact on the efficiency of composite adsorbents
• Examination of thermogravimetric properties, such as desorption water capacity, in composite materials
• Development and characterization of composite materials, focusing on preparation methods and interphase properties
• Performance evaluation of composites in adsorption applications, including comparisons with pure materials
• The improvement of adsorption kinetics and stability through composite formation
• Exploration of various materials used in composites, such as zeolites, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), polymers, and other adsorbents.
