About this Research Topic
This collection will showcase the high-quality work of internationally recognized researchers in the early stages of their careers working in the field of aging and the immune system. We aim to highlight research by leading scientists of the future across the entire breadth of this field, and present advances in theory, experiment and methodology with applications to compelling problems.
Recognizing the future leaders of our field is fundamental to safeguarding tomorrow's driving force in innovation.
Aging and the Immune System welcomes research covering, but not limited to, the following areas:
● The response to infection and vaccination
● The adaptive immune response
● Age-related changes in metabolism and their impact on immunity
● Innate and adaptive immunity
All studies should contribute insights into factors that can improve human healthspan. Included in this are preclinical animal studies, translational studies, and clinical trials. This also includes observational studies that do not yet have mechanistic insights. Studies examining basic immunology, that do not have translational relevance, are not within the scope of this specialty section.
Please note, if you wish to make a spontaneous application to this collection please inform the Editorial Office at aging@frontiersin.org.
Keywords: aging, immune response, vaccination, metabolism, immune system
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
