About this Research Topic
Personal competencies are therefore a crucial skill for people's lives in general, and in the academic and work environment in particular. It has been found that professionals in any field of work with good levels of personal competencies experience greater job satisfaction, better management of demanding situations and less job burnout.
The objective of this Research Topic is to gather contributions that investigate those capacities, skills, abilities and artistic and cultural experiences that, from a positive perspective, are oriented towards the achievement of well-being, as well as the integral development of the individual.
We focus on the analysis of a great diversity of variables involved in the processes of development and promotion of personal skills, as well as the artistic and cultural experiences that the subject carries out and their impact on improving well-being. This will allow us to identify new relationships, update existing theoretical models or propose new models with a robust empirical basis. Thus, the updating of knowledge and progress in the understanding of processes inherent to changing development environments will allow the implementation of skills, resources and personal strategies to achieve balance in the individual's mental health.
We are especially interested in analysis from a positive perspective, incorporating aspects such as personal skills, the arts or the humanities, in order to identify variables that may be operating as protectors and that, therefore, can be used in the design of training programs. intervention to improve the well-being and health of the subject. With this special issue we hope to be able to contribute to research in the field of psychological well-being in a general way, open to both the general population and studies with more specific populations.
For this Research Topic, articles on high quality original research that provide solid findings that expand current knowledge on this topic are welcome. Priority will be given to papers presenting results of data collection and statistical analysis, and theoretical reviews framed in a systematic methodology or meta-analysis, which stand out for the relevance of their results, will also be considered. Above all, those presenting an updated methodological framework that can be considered as a starting point for future lines of research will be considered, specifically the following: proposal of theoretical models, development of evaluation instruments or intervention design programs.
Some of the topics that should especially be included in this issue are:
● Risk behaviors and protective factors for the promotion of healthy development and promotion of psychological well-being.
