About this Research Topic
The goal of this collection is to gather all innovative studies, reviews, and analyses in the area of anesthesia and perfusion for cardiac surgery.
We welcome clinical and experimental papers on cardiac anesthesia and extracorporeal circulation for cardiac surgery and related interventions. Researchers are encouraged to submit Original Research, Systematic Reviews, Mini-reviews, Opinion, and Case Reports that are relevant to this collection that will cover topics such as (but are not limited to):
• Preoperative risks estimations
• Preoperative preparations
• Enhanced recovery after cardiac surgery
• Perioperative hemostasis and blood management
• Pharmacology and pharmacokinetics
• Drugs and anesthetic safety and strategy
• Myocardial protection
• Neurological monitoring and protection
• Renal and splanchnic protection
• Hemodynamic management
• Pharmacological and mechanical circulatory support
• Perfusion strategies for extracorporeal circulation
• Minimally invasive, hybrid, and robotic-assisted cardiac procedures
• Electrophysiology
• Postoperative care, recovery, complications, and outcomes
