About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to explore and promote innovation in the technical aspects of ornamental plant production, including propagation and cultivation strategies, classical breeding, the development of new cultivars, and the domestication of potential wild species. By continuing to appraise modern breeding strategies, this research seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and economic challenges faced by the industry. The goal is to foster applied and innovative research that can lead to the improvement of the quality and productivity of ornamental plants, ultimately benefiting both producers and consumers.
To gather further insights into the production and breeding of ornamental plants, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Innovative propagation techniques
- Advanced cultivation strategies
- Classical breeding methods
- Development of new cultivars
- Domestication of wild species
