Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made significant strides across various fields in recent years, with healthcare being one of its prime beneficiaries. Specifically, in the realm of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a complex neuroimmunological disorder, AI has the potential to bring about groundbreaking advancements. MS presents numerous challenges, from an accurate diagnosis to the prediction of disease progression and treatment response, owing largely to its multifactorial etiology and significant inter-patient variability. Furthermore, MS research generates vast amounts of diverse data, from clinical metrics to imaging and biomarkers, making it a prime candidate for AI applications. This Research Topic, "AI at the Frontiers of MS Research: A Multidimensional Approach," seeks to explore how AI can revolutionize our understanding and management of MS, shedding light on diverse applications ranging from information retrieval to the development of assistive devices.

Recent developments in AI, such as machine learning and deep learning algorithms, have shown promising results in extracting insights from large and complex datasets, predicting disease progression, optimizing treatment plans, and even exploring potential new treatments. These advancements represent a turning point in the potential use of AI for MS.

To achieve this goal, our Research Topic will gather a series of research papers that focus on diverse applications of AI in MS research, including but not limited to, information retrieval, diagnostics, predictive analytics, remote monitoring, assistive technologies, pathophysiology, and novel treatment exploration.
