About this Research Topic
In the era of Omics technologies, there is a massive generation of data on genomic alterations and regulation of genes/proteins in pathological conditions such as cancer. However, integrating these data with the functional role of coding and noncoding RNA in thyroid cell biology is still deficient in most of the studies.
Within this research topic we encourage the submission of manuscripts related to the molecular understanding of thyroid cell biology, thyroid disorders, thyroid cancer and tumorigenesis.
This research topic includes, but is not limited to the:
• Novel molecular targets in thyroid cancer;
• Oncogenes and tumor suppressors involved in thyroid cancer;
• Role of noncoding RNA in thyroid cancer and biology (i.e. microRNA, lncRNA, circRNA);
• Molecular mechanisms of thyroid disease;
• New methods and models to study thyroid cell biology and tumorigenesis (i.e. gene editing and modulation).
• Role of genetics and epigenetics in thyroid physiopathology;
Keywords: Thyroid, noncoding RNA, oncogenes, thyroid cancer, microRNA, lncRNA, circRNA
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
