About this Research Topic
The aim of this Research Topic is to bring together the latest methodologies, findings, and reviews that describe how hormones can influence our perceptions and judgements of others. Submissions could address topics such as how hormones influence the judgements of the attractiveness, trustworthiness, health, or personality of others. Similarly, submissions could investigate or summarize how natural and/or synthetic hormones impact the ways in which we relate to others (e.g., intersexual or intrasexual competition, parental or alloparental care, disgust sensitivity, infidelity, mate choice, sexual motivation and behaviour, emotional reactions). The goal is to create an open access Research Topic outlining current research in behavioural endocrinology and social psychology.
Submissions may describe empirical studies, meta-analyses, or methodological techniques, or represent reviews of emerging literature in the area. This Research Topic is open to submissions from researchers investigating the contributions of endogenous and/or exogenous hormones to the perceptions and judgements made of others. Submissions should address research questions or areas related to hormones and person perception, broadly defined.
Keywords: Hormones, steroids, hormonal contraceptives, peptide hormones, stress hormones, mate choice, attractiveness, trustworthiness, disgust, emotion, competition, infant perception, sexual behavior, social behavior
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
