About this Research Topic
The increasing prevalence of allergies remains a significant concern for patients and healthcare providers. This Research Topic aims to focus on the roles of T cell populations, regulatory T cells (Tregs), Th17, Tfh, and B cell subsets (Non-conventional and conventional) in the development and management of various allergic conditions, including food allergies, as well as exploring novel approaches to allergy treatment.
We welcome original research articles, reviews, and methodological papers covering the immune mechanisms involving T cell and B cell subsets in allergies and novel treatment approaches. We encourage submissions that address the following sub-themes:
a. The role of T cell populations in allergic conditions
b. Involvement of T cell subsets in allergy development and management
c. B cell subsets and their contribution to the immune response in allergies
d. Novel therapeutic approaches targeting T and B cell subsets in food and other types of allergies
e. Innovative treatment strategies for allergies, including immune modulation, cytokine imbalance and biologic therapies
f. Genetic and environmental factors influencing Treg, Th17, Tfh and B cell subset function in allergy susceptibility
g. Coinfection/Cross-contamination between allergies and other immune-mediated diseases mediated protection or pathogenesis.
h. Advances in diagnostic methods for detecting T cell or B cell subset epitope diversity in allergies
i. Public health initiatives and policies aimed at reducing the burden of allergies with a focus on Immune modulation, early intervention and novel treatments.
j. Psychological and social implications of living with food and other allergies
