The Hellenic Polymer Society Conference series (Polyconf), is a biannual event of the fast-growing Hellenic Polymer Society hosted in different cities in Greece. It is a highly interdisciplinary conference focusing on all aspects of polymer science and technology and featuring plenary lectures, invited talks, oral and poster presentations from Academics, Researchers, and Industrial partners.
The 14th International Conference of the Hellenic Polymer Society (polyconf14) will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 22 to 25 November 2023 under the auspices of the European Polymer Federation (EPF) which fosters activities in polymer science and technology. Polyconf14 will be co-organized by the Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Departments of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), and the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH).
The purpose of the Conference is to communicate the steady and continuous evolution of research in the field of polymer science in Greece as well as its optimal promotion and publicity and its connection with Greek and foreign industry, aiming at the maximum possible technological development. This goal will be achieved through oral and poster presentations by Greek scientists as well as distinguished invited researchers from abroad.
The thematic areas that will be covered in Polyconf14 include Health, Energy and Environment, Theory and Simulations, Industrial Processes and Applications, and Fabrication of Novel Polymer-Based Materials. The Research Topic will consist of a collection of research papers encompassing recent developments in the field of polymer science and technology, as presented in Polyconf14.
More specifically, the following themes will be covered in this Research Topic:
• Synthetic and Bio-polymers in Life Sciences
• Polymer Formulations for Drug and Gene Delivery
• Polymers for Energy and Environmental Applications
• Sustainable Polymeric Materials
• Biobased and Biodegradable Polymers
• Polymer Recycling
• Microplastics
• New Theoretical Developments in Polymer Science
• Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulations
• Structure/Properties Predictive Tools Based on Artificial Intelligence Methods
• Organic and Hybrid Coatings
• Polymer Production and Processing
• Polymer Characterization
• Materials for Packaging Applications
• Polymers for Electric, Optical and Electronic Applications
• 3D-Printing
• Polymer Synthesis and Functionalization
• Polymer Blends and Alloys
