About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to explore and identify new molecular and genetic targets, as well as innovative therapeutic approaches for glaucoma and its associated consequences, such as neurodegeneration. The primary objective is to advance the understanding of the disease mechanisms and develop more effective treatments that can improve the quality of life for patients affected by glaucoma. By addressing these critical questions, the research seeks to contribute to the prevention and management of this debilitating condition.
To gather further insights into the molecular and therapeutic landscape of glaucoma, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
• Identification and validation of new molecular targets for glaucoma treatment.
• Genetic studies elucidating the hereditary aspects of glaucoma.
• Development of novel drug delivery systems for glaucoma therapies.
• Innovative therapeutic approaches targeting neurodegeneration in glaucoma.
• Comparative studies of existing and emerging treatments for glaucoma.
• Mechanistic studies on the pathophysiology of glaucoma and its progression.
