About this Research Topic
We invite researchers to submit their latest findings to this Research Topic on the relationship between body composition and cardiovascular health. Original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and observational and intervention studies aimed at increasing our understanding of the role of body composition in cardiovascular health, particularly regarding sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity are welcomed and encouraged. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• The relationship between body composition and cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension, dyslipidaemia, insulin resistance, and inflammation - with a focus on the role of sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity.
• The impact of fat-free mass, fat mass, visceral adipose tissue, and other measures of body composition on cardiovascular health outcomes, including carotid intima-media thickness and arterial stiffness.
• The effects of nutrition and exercise interventions on body composition, sarcopenia, and cardiovascular health outcomes.
• The use of novel biomarkers or imaging techniques to assess the relationship between body composition and cardiovascular health.
We encourage researchers to submit their findings and look forward to exploring this important topic further.
