About this Research Topic
In this research topic we would like to focus on the factors which lead to ethnic disparities in diabetes care and outcomes, varying from disease processes to language barriers to engagement with healthcare professionals.
Specific themes of interest include but are not limited to:
- The Influence of various factors on diabetes care, complications and outcomes including: Ethnicity, Deprivation, Language barriers, Immigration, Uptake of technology, Education level
- Structured diabetes education tailored to specific ethnic groups
- Variations in pathophysiology of diabetes amongst different ethnic groups
- Approaches to address health inequalities in diabetes care and outcomes
- Barriers to addressing ethnic disparities in diabetes care
