About this Research Topic
With emerging techniques such as artificial intelligence and block chain, significant research progress has been recently made in each process of the production, use, and reuse/recycling of battery systems. This Research Topic focuses on up-to-date research on all aspects of battery manufacturing/production, use/operation, and reutilization/recycling, expecting to drive innovations on full lifecycle management of battery systems. We would particularly like to welcome manuscripts from multi-disciplinary fields, such as artificial intelligence, design, material, electrochemistry, power electronics, thermal and mechanical technologies, and recycling.
We invite the submission of original research, review, perspective articles and potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following research areas:
- Battery manufacturing/design/production
- Battery materials, and system design
- Battery modeling, parameterization, state estimation, diagnostics and prognostics
- Battery thermal management including cooling and preheating
- Battery charging, and optimal control
- Battery balancing, and energy management
- Battery system stability and reliability
- Battery failure mechanism and life extension methods
- Thermal runaway evolution process, protection methods, and anti-spread measures for batteries
- Battery fault, lifetime and safety management
- Advanced experimental, characterization, and sensor methods.
- Battery selection and pack optimization configuration
- Battery reutilization/recycling
- Battery techno-economic assessment
- Machine learning, big data, and fusion methods
