About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims at discussing recent progress and applications of wearable biosensing devices, including user-friendly, easy-to use and simple wearable platforms; immediate clinical assessment technology; flexible electronics based on nanomaterials; self-powered wearable devices toward personalized healthcare; and highly sensitive and specific biosensors. In particular, this research topic also highlights the integration, miniaturization, and commercialization wearable devices in terms of sample handling platforms, signal transducers, powering devices, wearing comfort, mechanical flexibility, and so on. In addition, the wearable biosensing devices should also be widely applied in clinical diagnosis, disease control, poison detection, and other fields through the detection of various biomarkers.
This collection proposes to encompass recent progress and applications of wearable biosensing devices integrated with various flexible materials, microfluidic technology, and biosensing electronics. The themes covered include but are not limited to:
• Integrated user-friendly wearable biosensing devices for biofluid monitoring
• A wearable biosensing system that can detect a variety of disease markers, helping to achieve rapid symptomatic treatment
• Flexible ultrasonic sensors integrated into wearable devices for real-time monitoring of myocardium stiffness and muscle stiffness during rehabilitation exercises
• Self-powered wearable biosensing devices based on smart materials
• Integration, miniaturization, and flexibility of wearable biosensing devices, especially signal transmission and processing modules
