Innovation and technological advances are modulating and improving not only human lifestyle, but also flooding dental practices to enhance diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of patients in several oral conditions. From digital imaging tools to the application of artificial intelligence, early diagnosis is allowing less invasive and more effective treatments. Improvement in the application on light and biphotonic are allowing the development of better techniques and appliances. Scanning and printing technologies are allowing the treatment of patients faster, with lower costs, and with great precision and individualized possibilities. Internet and technological advances are allowing the access of remote societies to dental care through tele-dentistry. Smart objects, such as, electronic devices, apps and toothbrushes, are improving dental care.
This Research Topic aims to provide a platform for clinicians and researchers to present and share significant findings on clinical practice, focusing on the use and evaluation of new techniques and technologies for diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of oral diseases. Also, of interest is the presentation and debate regarding materials with nanotechnology, bioactivity and biomimetic properties for rehabilitation of oral diseases. Furthermore, this Research Topic aims to create a space to discuss the impact of technology, innovation and artificial intelligence applied to oral health on the quality of life of patients and improvement of dental practice.
