About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to gather original and novel studies on the characteristics, mechanisms, future changes, and risk assessment of EHMEs at regional and global scales, which facilitates a better understanding of the monitoring and early warning systems of EHMEs for disaster risk management as well as climate adaptation and mitigation.
This Research Topic may cover the following themes that include, but are not limited to:
• Monitoring systems of EHMEs
• Mechanisms of EHMEs
• Modeling and simulation of EHMEs
• Observed and projected changes in EHMEs
• Risk assessment of EHMEs
• Prediction and early warning of EHMEs
• Impact-based early warning at regional scales
• Prevention and mitigation measures of EHMEs
• Socioeconomic impacts of climate change on EHMEs
Keywords: extreme hydro-meteorological events, monitoring methods, numerical simulation, vulnerability, climate projection, risk assessment, early warning, climate change
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
